Halal Deli Meats, Explained: Pastrami, Beef Bacon, Salami & More
Is halal deli meat actually good? Here’s a plain-English tour of every meat on our board.

“Is halal deli meat actually good?” We hear it weekly — and one bite of peppered pastrami usually settles it. Halal deli meat isn’t a compromise; it’s the same craft — brining, smoking, seasoning — applied to meat that meets halal standards from source to slicer.
Turkey pastrami brings the classic pastrami crust — black pepper, coriander — on a leaner bird. It stars in our Pastrami Special and the Sandwishat Signature. Beef pastrami is the richer, deeper cut you’ll find on Focaccia Friday’s We Beef’in. Beef bacon crisps up smoky and salty and does everything pork bacon does on a sandwich. Beef salami adds the cured, garlicky backbone to The Smoke House, and our smoked turkey and buffalo chicken round out the board.
Every one of them is 100% halal — there is no non-halal meat in our kitchen, so there’s no cross-contact to worry about. If you’ve been driving past deli counters wondering what you’re missing: this is your sign. Try one meat a week — the menu maps them all.
